INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY ASNT CERTIFICATIONS FROM INDTT

INDTT’s Level I & Level II Infrared Course meets all Level I ASNT-SNT-TC-1A recommendations for thermal / infrared testing, as established by the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT).

The Level I Infrared Thermography Training Course is geared to the new infrared camera user and focuses on its use for a variety of condition monitoring / predictive maintenance applications. The training programme covers 50% theory and 50% practical application allowing the student time to obtain a good foundation in this method of NDT by practicing a large variety of inspection techniques

Attendees successfully completing all training course requirements will receive ASNT Level I Infrared Thermography Certification or ASNT Level II Infrared Thermography Certification

INDTT’s Level II Infrared Training Course is designed for those thermographers who are interested in gaining sound knowledge, understanding many different Infrared techniques & more advanced infrared knowledge. This infrared training course focuses on strengthening and improving Infrared skills for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance applications. It will also strengthen their knowledge about the subject and provide excellent base to those who in due course look forward to acquire ASNT Level III certification. All lectures will be taken by our principle Level III Prashant V. Wagh ( ASNT ID 86051) and not by any of his assistants within our institute.

Level II Infrared Training students must have successfully completed a Level I Infrared Training Course.

Course Objectives

The Level II course purpose is to ensure that participants are competent to operate their equipment and take thermograms that are suitable for analysing, for whatever the required purpose; including guidance on analysis of images, producing reports, and understanding the limitations and possibilities of thermography. The Level 2 course is run at a significantly higher level than the level I course, with more complex mathematical manipulation.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

The Level II course is a 80 hour delivery, consisting of a 40 hour for Level II, and the previous 40 hours Level I training.

COURSE BENEFITS:

Introduction to thermal imaging and measurement systems for predictive maintenance applications.

Collect quality data, accurate temperature readings, and account for measurement effects such as distance and emissivity using infrared cameras.

Interpret thermographs and make informed decisions using heat transfer concepts to analyze thermal images, and see the latest in infrared inspection report generation and database software.

Avoid costly mistakes – learn to distinguish between hot spots and reflections, direct vs. indirect readings and qualitative vs. quantitative thermography.

Challenge yourself with field applications labs that closely simulate real-world infrared applications.

Infrared Thermography ASNT Level II Course Curriculum:

The Level II course is designed to increase the knowledge of the Level I thermographer to the end that challenges such as active infrared applications may be met. The course looks at infrared radiation from a quantitative view to help determine the monetary value of remedial action taken as a result of thermographic findings. It meets or exceeds the recommended training requirements of ASNT-TC-1A for Level II Thermal/Infrared Certification. The course is a good mixture of audio, visual, and kinetic presentation material to help enable all types of learners to benefit from the material presented.

All students are continuously assessed during the course by homework and progress tests together with a theoretical and practical end of course examination.
